Our earthquake stories

I was on the field when the earthquake happened. The whole ground shook. I was scared and then Mum came and then Sandi, my nanny, came with Natalia. Then we ran as fast as we could to Sandi’s car. When we went home I stayed with my Mum and then my Poppa and Dad came in a truck. I went to Tinwald school in Ashburton. My teachers name was Mrs Kircher. I am glad I am back with Mrs Derrick. She is my favourite teacher.

I went to my Nana’s house because my house is broken down because of the earthquake. There was water everywhere at school.

Coming back to school!

Tomorrow, Monday, is going to be our first day back at school! It will be great to see everyone back in class. We are having a 'Shaken but not stirred' BBQ for all students and families. It starts at 10.45am until 12.30pm, then our first full day back at school is on Tuesday 9am-2.45pm.

Today at night-time at school in the hall, parents and children are allowed to come. My Mum and Dad are coming and so are me and my brother and my little sister. My friends are coming too. I am going to wear a dress and it is pink, white and black. We are going to have fun.

We Are Learning To: Write a recount about Christmas

On Christmas I went to the sitting room and I saw the Christmas tree. Me and two cousins opened my presents. I had a bike for Christmas and a colouring in book. I was happy and my cousin was happy too.

On Christmas day I woke up and I opened my presents and then my Mum and Dad woke up and then had some ice cream. Then we went to McDonalds and then home.

In the weekend I went to QEII and I had some cookies and chips and went home and watched TV and went to bed.

On Christmas day we had pudding and had a BBQ. My cousins and Aunty and friends came over to our party. We had a colourful Christmas tree and we had presents too. We got a cake and some pudding. On the Christmas tree we put cards on the tree. I got one card from my Mum. We had lots of fun then it was time to eat. Then the party was finished.

On Christmas morning, me and my sisters and my brother opened our presents. Then we went to my Nana’s house for lunch. Before we had lunch we played cricket and it was fun.
